IRA N. LANDES, of the firm of Faust & Landes, jewelers and opticians, was born in Lancaster County, May 2, 1884, the son of L. S. Landes. He was educated in the public schools of Ephrata and Hanover, Pa. ; Lehigh Preparatory School, and in 1902 formed a partnership with Edwin H. Fabler, under the firm name of Fabler & Landes, jewelers and opticians. The business was located at 619 Hamilton Street, and was continued until the death of Mr. Fahler in 1913, when Mr. Landes became the sole proprietor. A year later Mr. Landes formed a partnership with E. J. Faust, one of Allentown's established opticians, under the firm name of Faust & Landes, the store being located at 728 Hamilton Street. Messrs. Faust and Landes are also the proprietors of the Allentown Jewelers Supply Company, dealers in wholesale jewelry. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce ; the Pennsylvania Retailers Jewelers' Association; the Elks ; the Eagles; the St. Leger Club, and others.
