HON. JOHN L. SCHWARTZ, attorney-at-law, was born in Allentown, October 4, 1865, a son of Alfred B. and Ida (Wright) Schwartz. He attended the Muhlenberg Preparatory School, Muhlenberg College, and later studied law with his uncle, the Hon. Robert E. Wright. He was admitted to the bar April 7, 1890, and has practiced his profession since that time. Mr. Schwartz is a Democrat politically, and in 1896 was elected district attorney of Lehigh County for a three-year term. In 1900 he was solicitor for the city of Allentown, and later served as sheriff's solicitor, under Sheriff Jacob B. Waidelieh. He also saved as a solicitor for the Board of Poor Directors. He is an active worker in politics, and several times attended as delegate, the local State Democratic conventions. He has proven himself a legal adviser of more than ordinary ability, and enjoys a large practice. On December 10, 1894, Mr. Schwartz married Ella Maxwell, daughter of Squire William Maxwell, of Laurys, Pa.
