GEORGE W. FOWLER, president and general manager of the Fowler Company, is a native of Binghamton, N. Y., having been born in that city on June 12, 1882. He is a son of George and Anna J. Fowler. He was educated in the public schools and Worcester Academy, Worcester, Mass., being graduated from that institution with the class of 1902. He then became associated with his father in the department store firm of Fowler, Dick & Walker, in Binghamton. After seven years in this field he became a member of the Napier-Fowler Company, of New York City, exporters and importers. Two years later, in 1914, he came to Allentown and became a member of the Fowler-Thomas Company, dealers in ladies' wearing apparel, at the corner of Eighth and Hamilton Streets. The firm was incorporated and following the death of Mr. Thomas, Mr. Fowler continued as president and general manager. The store is one of the leading of its kind in the city. Mr. Fowler is a keen-minded business man and public-spirited citizen. He is a member of the Allentown Chamber of Commerce and the following : Otseningo Lodge, No. 435, F. and A. M.; Otseningo Consistory and Kaluriah Temple, all. of Binghamton, N. Y.; Binghamton Club; Allentown Rotary Club; the Elks; Clover Club, and the American Geographical Society.
