OSCAR G. TALLMAN was born March 17, 1882, in Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pa., the son of Henry and Mary (Schrefiler) Tallman. He worked on a farm and attended the public schools until seventeen years of age, and in 1900 came to Northampton, and for a period of seven years was employed there in various capacities. In 1907 Mr. Tallman came to Allentown and assumed the proprietorship of the cafe now known as "The Old Heidelberg," South Sixth Street. Two years later he established Tallman's Cafe on Hamilton Street, near Seventh, which business lie has successfully continued up to the present time. Mr. Tallman is a well-known sportsman. He is a thirty-second degree Mason, being a member of Jordan Lodge of Masons, Bloomsburg Consistory and Lulu Temple. He is also a member of the Clover Club and other organizations. In June, 1901, he married Minnie Erhart, daughter of J. Erhart, of Northampton.
